FINISSAGE - Hamidou Kodio and Yamarou Photo Collective, 29 Mar.

Centre Soleil d'Afrique and Yamarou Photo provide platforms for young artists and photographers to come together and develop new perspectives on life in Mali through their work. This exhibition at Nautilus aims to support their work at a time when the country is going through a profound transition.

Last days to visit the exhibition and to acquire works of art showing @ Nautilus.

We will also screen the documentary 'L'argent, la liberté, une histoire du Franc CFA' (Money, freedom, a history of the Franc CFA) by Kati Lena Ndiaye.

Synopsis:
1960 marks the end of empires on the African continent. France disappears from the map leaving behind the CFA Franc, a colonial creation, the currency still in use in almost all of its former territories in Sub-Sahara Africa. Why is it that these States regaining independence have never denounced this strange legacy? The surprise announcement in December 2020 of the end of the CFA Franc replaced by the ECO is a ground-breaking moment in the eventful and little-known history of this currency, today at the centre of controversy.
